Four Toyota crews competed in the first stage. Among them were the 2022 triumphant, the youngest world champion in history, Calle Rovanpera, and Sébastien Ogier, who was trying to win the Monte Carlo Rally for the ninth time. This year, Elfin Evans and Takamoto Katsuta competed with updated GR YARIS Rally1 cars.

The very first race was completely dominated by Toyota - guest racer Sébastien Ogier set the first time, reigning champion Kale Rowanpera took second, and Welshman Elphin Evans took fourth place.

Thanks to a brilliant team performance, Toyota Gazoo Racing topped the table from the first round and leads the constructors' championship with 51 points.

The second stage, Rally Sweden, will be held on February 9-12.
